Stunning Animation in Munich Get Ready for an Unforgettable Experience at Animation Studio MNchen
Maurice, a streetwise tomcat, has come up with the perfect money-making scam. The family entertainment film is inspired by the Grimm Brothers' fairytale about the Pied Piper of Hamelin - the cat and a young pipe player named Keith lead a band of rats from town to town faking rat invasions! It works perfectly - until their cheat is uncovered.
Maurice, a streetwise cat, has the perfect money-making scam. He’s found a dumb-looking kid who plays a pipe, and his very own horde of rats – rats who, strangely, are educated and literate, so Maurice can no longer think of them as “lunch”. And everyone knows the stories about rats and pipers... However, when Maurice and the rodents reach the stricken town of Bad Blintz, their little con goes down the drain. For someone there is playing a different tune. A dark, shadowy tune. Something very, very bad is waiting in the cellars. It’s not a game anymore. It’s a rat-eat-rat world and the educated rats must learn to accept a new word... EVIL. The story is framed by the Mayor’s daughter, Melissa, a keen reader of children’s literature, who, when she discovers what is happening under her nose, joins the fray and gets involved in the tale of… The Amazing Maurice.

This incredibly lively, unique and entertaining animated feature film is based on one of Sir Terry Pratchett’s highly popular “Discworld” novels that have sold more than 90 million books worldwide. One of the highest-grossing screenwriters of all time, Oscar-nominated Terry Rossio, whose extensive credits include “Shrek, ” “Aladdin, ” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”, has penned the screenplay. Carter Goodrich, who worked on “Ratatouille”, “The Groods”, “Despicable Me”, is onboard for the character design. The stellar voice cast is led by Emilia Clarke, Hugh Laurie, David Thewlis, Himesh Patel and Gemma Arterton.

While it’s completely normal to walk through the Marienplatz, share a coffee with friends somewhere along theKaufingerstrasseor stare in awe at thegothic style of the Rathausbuilt in 1908, watching the animation of the Glockenspiel is a pretty touristy thing to do. So, for ten minutes, just come to terms with being a tourist. This is the corniest thing you can possibly do in Munich and I got berated by my husband endlessly because I continued directing people to this little bit of
The Glockenspiel consists oflife-sized figuresthat move in the same direction three times a day, accompanied, naturally, by folk music played by the chimes. The chimes go off at 11am, and then again at 12pm and 5pm during peak holiday season. At these times, the Glockenspiel comes to life, depicting the marriage of a Bavarian duke and a jousting match between Lothringen and Bavaria. Following the jousting match, the figures on the bottom half of the Glockenspiel begin the

If you’re hungry enough at the Hofbräuhaus, try a traditional dish like Weisswurst; white sausages stuffed with veal/pork, served with sweet mustard and generally eaten before 12:00pm. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, try

Don’t expect a pretty little salad with veggies and calorie free dressing. I made the mistake of ordering salad during my first visit to Munich and all I got was the most confused look followed by a field of lettuce the size of my place mat. Never again.

Keep an eye out at the Hofbräuhaus for many a Lederhosen and Dirndl, traditional wear worn notably throughout Oktoberfest! These traditional costumes are seen daily in Munich as people often wear formal or casual forms of Lederhosen or Dirndls to every special occasion demanding an ounce of tradition.
When I lived in Munich, my husband and I would dress up in our costumes and head to the Hofbräuhaus, just for fun! While it’s merrier to singalong if you’re garbed in the traditional attire, you’ll be welcomed either way and wrapped into singing songs you don’t know while banging your fist on the table and stomping your feet to the rhytm of the Umpapa.
